The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially unveiled the revised schedule for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup on Monday, August 26. Meanwhile, the competition is scheduled to start in October. Earlier, Bangladesh was supposed to host the competition, but the ICC was compelled to change the schedule at the last minute. This step was taken after the governments of certain participating nations issued travel advisories because of political unrest in Bangladesh. As an alternative, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was chosen as the host nation by the ICC in the end. Although Bangladesh will not host the competition, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will serve as the official host. In UAE, the ninth edition of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Dubai and Sharjah at two distinct locations.
