On Saturday, March 18th at 7:30 IST, the final game of Pakistan Super League season 8 was played in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans.
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bat first.
Mirza Tahir Baig and Fakhar Zaman opened the innings for LAQ. Qalandars lost their first wicket when Tahir Baig departed after scoring 30 runs off just 17 balls. Pakistani batter Abdullah Shafique played a brilliant innings in this match with two 6s and eight 4s to his name, scoring a massive 65 run-knock off 40 balls. Fakhar Zaman also played an amazing innings of 39 runs off 34 balls

Superb bowling was put on display by the Lahore Qalandars’ bowlers as Rashid Khan took two wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi picked up four crucial wickets for 51 runs during his bowling spell. Shaheen Afridi also played an amazing innings with the bat; he staged a massive 44 run-knock off 15 balls along with five 6s and two 4s, ultimately getting awarded with the player of match award.
From the Multan Sultans’ side, Usman Khan and Mohammed Rizwan came to open. The Sultans lost their first wicket when Usman Khan got deceived for 41 runs in the Powerplay. South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw came to bat at number 3 and played a brilliant innings in this match with two 6s and seven 4s to his name, scoring an impressive 52 run-knock off 32 balls.

Multan Sultans’ Usama Mir bagged three important wickets for just 24 runs in 3 overs. Khushdil Shah took one wicket for 11 runs in two overs. In the end, the Lahore Qalandars won the title of PSL season 8 by 1 run.
Multan Sultans’ pacer Ihsanullah bagged the player of the tournament award in this season. He collected 22 wickets in 12 matches with a superb 7.59 economy in this season.
